It By Stephen King Chapter 2

In my Second blog about It by Stephen King i will discuss about king use of imagery. King has a good habit of using imagery in this book. This is another example of imagery. “If I do, will you leave us alone?” Adrian was wheezing with fright, almost crying, looking from Unwin to Dubay to Garton with terrified eyes.“Just give me the fucker!”Adrian handed it over. Garton produced a switch knife from the left front pocket of his jeans and cut it into two pieces. He rubbed the pieces against the seat of his jeans. Then he dropped them to his feet and stomped them.Don Hagarty backed away a little while their attention was divided between Adrian and the hat—he was looking, he said, for a cop.“Now will you let us al—” Adrian Mellon began, and that was when Garton punched him in the face, driving him back against the waist-high pedestrian railing of the bridge. Adrian screamed, clapping his hands to his mouth. Blood poured through his fingers.”

In this part of the story i'm give you a little bit of background about who Adrian and Don Hagarty . Both of these character are homosexual character who date each. the other character are a bunch of boys who are homophobic. i can see that the author use imagery because he add sentence like " Adrian was wheezing with fright, almost crying, looking from Unwin to Dubay to Garton with terrified eyes." which can make the reader see a visual of Adrian face crying and terrified that these boys might beat him up . not only that but that whole part use imagery cause the reader can see how this is unfolding. i like that the author uses imagery in his story because it add strength to the visual of the books. i like this scene because we can see that author era was the era of homophobic and that at the time any person who was homosexual would get beat up . so this addition of reality to the story makes the reader of this era become more surprise. King has a very amazing way of writing because of his style not only does he use imagery but he add negative connotation word to show the reader how bad this situation is getting . he add negative connotation like " Fucker, cut, punch, knife, stomped, cop, leave, and screamed" word like this makes the reader know that the situation that Adrian is in a negative situation
the book get very interesting every time i read and it get scary and weirder every time.
