Today i will talk about the major difference
between the book and the movie. When i first started reading the book i was
given a lot of background about the relationship between bill and George. We
can see that in the book they have a good bond. The book also gives the fears
that George has. While the movie does show the relationship between bill and
George it doesn't show a lot about George. George is seen as a minor character
in the movie which i think is kind of dumb because he was a big part of the whole
story. I feel like the movie should have given George more screen time and more
background. Another thing i felt was kind of odd was that the movie didn't add an
important character, the person who found George. also one thing the movie took
out of the book and never added but instead replace it was the fact that Darry
had become kind of gay friendly and also it never showed the death of Adrian
who was beaten by three guys and then thrown off the bridge, and this was the
first time Pennywise reappeared after the children attacked him in the sewage. The
movie replaces the Adrian scene with a Pennywise killing a little girl and
leaving a picture of George. I felt that the movie should have added the Adrian
part of the book because it would make the story more sense. Sad that the movie
took out many important part of the story . The movie also didn't add the
background of patty, which I’m glad it didn't because adding that part to the
movie would be useless since patty never saw or even had a experience with
Pennywise. but most of the movie does have part of the book which makes the
movie decent enough. i hope that the 2017 reboot have more adaption of the book
and a little more background about each main character . Also explain how
Pennywise arrive to Darry and when his rampage carnage started. This is
my final blog for IT by Stephen King .

It By Stephen King Chapter 3
“Hot they had been; starved they had not. They were
married on August 19th, 1972. Patty Uris had gone to her marriage bed a virgin.
She had slipped naked between cool sheets at a resort hotel in the Poconos, her
mood turbulent and stormy—lightning-flares of wanting and delicious lust, dark
clouds of fright. When Stanley slid into bed beside her, ropy with muscle, his
penis an exclamation point rising from gingery pubic hair, she had whispered:
“Don’t hurt me, dear.” “I will never hurt you,” he said as he took her in his
arms, and it was a promise he had kept faithfully until May 28th, 1985—the
night of the bath. “You can see that Stephen King has used imagery once again
to strength his story . He adds imagery kind of like fifty shades of grey has
added in their book. Even though this is not a very sexual scene. The reader
can see how patty and Stanley were in there first honeymoon day. That why King
is a good imagery writer. Now since i have seen the movie. this part of the
book is not added in the movie but instead it explain about Stanley first
meeting IT and how Stanley almost got killed by IT when the kid decide to
attack him in the sewage. The movie does show when Stanley committed suicide
and patty walked in and see him dead. But this background of patty was taken
off from the movie. i think it was taken off because of budget and even because
it doesn't match with the story . i myself don't mind this background of patty
but i would had prefer the book would talk more about Stanley than patty since
she didn't have a encounter with IT. the book also explain other topic on how
each character do seem to forget each other and when they do remember about
their childhood they remember about IT. Which is why Stanley killed himself
because he would rather die with his own hand than by IT.

It by Stephen King Chapter 2 part 2
“John Webber Garton was convicted of first-degree
manslaughter and sentenced to ten to twenty years in Thomaston State Prison.Steven
Bishoff Dubay was convicted of first-degree manslaughter and sentenced to
fifteen years in Shawshank State Prison.Christopher Philip Unwin was tried
separately as a juvenile and convicted of second-degree manslaughter. He was
sentenced to six months at the South Windham Boys’ Training Facility, sentence
suspended.At the time of this writing, all three sentences are under appeal;
Garton and Dubay may be seen on any given day girl-watching or playing Penny
Pitch in Bassey Park, not far from where Mellon’s torn body was found floating
against one of the pilings of the Main Street Bridge.Don Hagarty and Chris
Unwin have left town.”“At the major trial—that of Garton and Dubay—no one
mentioned a clown.” Now I’m not going to really analysis this blog but more
comment on what I love about this ending to chapter 2. I have recently watch
the movie on 9/4/2016 and I got to say it was a good movie and something that I
see that is similar to the movie is that in the movie the people of Derry
always try to forget or not get involve in these tragedies that happen in town.
I love how the book brings this out and how the movie got this simple and
little detailed and added to their movie. The way the prosecutor didn’t even
mention a clown is to show how people don’t want to care about this tragedies’.
also the book mention how the prosecutor didn’t want to mention the clown
because it would had mess up the prosecution , which remind me in the movie
harry going to jail because he was blamed for the death of his friend and he would mention a clown but
nobody believed him . This is cool that this part of the book kind of relates
to the movie. i love the book because it sort of relate to the real life world where prosecutor would say some truth because they want to see like they are good prosecutor not caring who they put in jail . just like in this part of the book. i'm also very excited for the reboot movie which might have more scene from the book and maybe even this one and more that were cut out of the movie. i would like to see this scene because it does explain a lot for why the kid came back to finish there promises.

It By Stephen King Chapter 2
In my
Second blog about It by Stephen King i will discuss about king use of imagery.
King has a good habit of using imagery in this book. This is another example of
imagery. “If I do, will you leave us alone?” Adrian was wheezing with fright,
almost crying, looking from Unwin to Dubay to Garton with terrified eyes.“Just give me the fucker!”Adrian handed it
over. Garton produced a switch knife from the left front pocket of his jeans
and cut it into two pieces. He rubbed the pieces against the seat of his jeans.
Then he dropped them to his feet and stomped them.Don Hagarty backed away a
little while their attention was divided between Adrian and the hat—he was
looking, he said, for a cop.“Now will you let us al—” Adrian Mellon began, and
that was when Garton punched him in the face, driving him back against the
waist-high pedestrian railing of the bridge. Adrian screamed, clapping his
hands to his mouth. Blood poured through his fingers.”
In this
part of the story i'm give you a little bit of background about who Adrian and
Don Hagarty . Both of these character are homosexual character who date each.
the other character are a bunch of boys who are homophobic. i can see that the
author use imagery because he add sentence like " Adrian was wheezing with
fright, almost crying, looking from Unwin to Dubay to Garton with terrified
eyes." which can make the reader see a visual of Adrian face crying and
terrified that these boys might beat him up . not only that but that whole part use imagery cause the reader can see how this is unfolding. i like that the author uses imagery in his story because it add strength to
the visual of the books. i like this scene because we can see that author era
was the era of homophobic and that at the time any person who was homosexual
would get beat up . so this addition of reality to the story makes the reader
of this era become more surprise. King has a very amazing way of writing
because of his style not only does he use imagery but he add negative
connotation word to show the reader how bad this situation is getting . he add negative connotation like " Fucker, cut, punch, knife, stomped, cop, leave, and screamed" word like this makes the reader know that the situation that Adrian is in a negative situation.
the book get very interesting every time i read and it get scary and weirder every time.

It By Stephen King Chapter One
In the
story "It" by Stephen King, King’s use of imagery helps him add suspense in his story to make his reader stay on edge. For example King
writes this imagery “He felt the rough
surface of the macadam under his fingers, and the thin sheet of cold water
flowing around them. He saw himself getting up and backing away and that was
when a voice—a perfectly reasonable and rather pleasant voice—spoke to him from
inside the storm drain” “Hi, Georgie,” it said. George blinked and looked
again. He could barely credit what he saw; it was like something from a made-up
story, or a movie where you know the animals will talk and dance. If he had
been ten years older, he would not have believed what he was seeing, but he was
not sixteen. He was six. There was a clown in the storm drain. The light in
there was far from good, but it was good enough so that George Denbrough was
sure of what he was seeing. It was a clown, like in the circus or on TV. In
fact he looked like a cross between Bozo and Clarabell….The face of the clown
in the storm drain was white, there were funny tufts of red hair on either side
of his bald head, and there was a big clown-smile painted over his mouth. If
George had been inhabiting a later year, he would have surely thought of Ronald
McDonald before Bozo or Clarabell...In the other hand he held George’s
newspaper boat. “Want your boat, Georgie?” The clown smiled.George smiled back.
He couldn’t help it; it was the kind of smile you just had to answer. “I sure
do,” he said. The clown laughed. “ ‘I sure do.’ That’s good! That’s very good!
And how about a balloon?” “Well . . . sure!” He reached forward . . . and then
drew his hand reluctantly back. “I’m not supposed to take stuff from strangers.
My dad said so.” King give us the reader a visual look of Pennywise The Clown, the
clown that is described by George is that the clown looks like Bozo the clown
cross with Clarabell the clown. Just this visual of the clown i already have a
idea of what the clown looks like. i have never seen the movie before but i
seen images of the clown from the 1990 "It" movie and the 2017 movie reboot. i
can tell you that the movie and the book do have some some characteristic of
Bozo the clown and Clarabell. This is why i can see a bald clown with red hair
on each side of his head, A big smile on his face like the joker from The Dark Knight, when I
read throughout the book. Another part
that King did to add imagery was when PennyWise offered George the boat and
the balloon. as the reader I could see the clown offering these stuff to George
which adds the off edge part of King story. There an irony, king had the
choice to write about any monster he could have chosen but he created just a
simple clown. This help king not only makes his story scary but makes people be
more coulrophobia. Because of the story many people have had these phobia
toward clown and the reason why is because of the good use of imagery that
Stephen King uses to make a reader imagination flow throughout his book.
